LISKEARD LIB DEM COUNCILLOR RUNS 10k FOR CANCER RESEARCH1.30.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 10th Sep 2007
Jay Schofield, Liberal Democrat District Councillor for Liskeard North, yesterday completed a 10km run at Lanhydrock House in aid of Cancer Research - raising nearly £400 for the charity. At 20, Jay, Caradon District Council's Ambassador for Sport and Young People, is the Council's youngest councillor. He was elected this May as the Liberal Democrats took control of the District Council. Completing the course in just over an hour Jay said: "I was encouraged by the thousands of women who ran the 5km Race for Life earlier this year and was itching to do my part. There was a fantastic atmosphere at Lanhydrock and it was great to see so many people participating, and so much money raised."
